Do you love the Wekiva?
We at the University of Central Florida love the Wekiva and we are conducting research to help guide efforts to protect it.
The purpose of the study is to gain a better understanding of the impacts to the Wekiva springshed contributed by fertilization and other landscaping practices. We are working with homeowners, homeowner associations, gold course personnel, local government, and agricultural land owners on this project.
The research is being conducted by a team that includes the University of Central Florida Stormwater Management Academy, UCF Institute for Social and Behavioral Science, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and St. Johns River Water Management.

We need your help on this research!
We are seeking homeowners that live within the Wekiva Study area to provide input on our research and participate in groundwater quality testing.

What do I have to do?
Contact the research coordinator, Leesa Souto, to participate in the research. If you are selected, an interviewer will contact you to arrange a meeting where you will complete a short survey. At that point you can agree to allow well sampling of groundwater below your yard. The well will be installed using direct push technology that causes little to no disruption of the ground cover.
I have questions about this research, who can I contact?
